Our Commitment to Quality
Consistent with our mission to promote the continuous improvement and development of high-quality online courses and programs, Online & Distance Education has adopted Quality Matters, a nationally recognized rubric of standards for online course design.
Essential to the successful implementation of the Quality Matters Initiative are its professional development opportunities. Since 2011, more than 300 UNI faculty and staff have participated in workshops exploring the basics of applying the Quality Matters Rubric to course design. Additionally, 50 of these faculty have taken the next step to improve the design of their online courses. To further advance this professional development opportunity, more than 50 individuals have successfully completed the Quality Matters Peer Review Course, designed to prepare experienced online faculty to become Quality Matters Certified Peer Reviewers.
